Hey guys, man what a hard long day, got a good headache banging away. Not much happening on the Land front, but I did receive a call from Fletchers today, the young dude on the other end of the line asked me if my 'Work activity' had been completed yet?
Huh? I had spoken with EQC yesterday and the day before but was not asked anything about any other open issues except for the current situation out the back with the laterals.
He was very polite and even more so when I started waffling on that I have no idea which 'Activity', lost count of how many visits from contractors, no idea who has really been here, what for, what they did and which issues lol....that was nice of him to listen to a yapping blonde. I think I confused him and completely lost him when I was speiling off about all the times I come home, and find that some sort of work was in progress or other scenarios on the property, but no notifications were ever given to me.(except the two handwritten notes to apologies for the mess in my front yard)
The dude tried to write down what I was saying but as I said, think he lost me lol. To sum it up, he said the 'Work Activity' was an emergency repair that was logged 10th August this year. It was for sewage on my patio and blocked pipes. I remember ringing about the pipes a few times but never did hear back about that time till today. He said he would look into what has been happening once I told him it wasn't fixed.
I told him that the morning before last, some guys came around to advise me on the situation of my back yard, and that EQC were putting forward a 'Work order or Activity' to get emergency repairs on back laterals. And I am now aware that any emergency repairs accepted are taken out when over the cap payment is made. Feb they took off $11,000 for emergency repairs, buggar, one of them was not what I needed and did not ask for it but they insisted, oh well....
This young dude must be thinking 'Oh no!', as I told him that apparently the decking has to be ripped up, and I know there are the cracks and a possible void (more than likely form the pipes), and movement with raised and broken concrete underneath, and I had been looking through the cracks in the decking for months, therefore I want them to ring me when they rip it up. I don't want to see the patio destroyed but the interest of what is under there has got to me, its like an unveiling for my house. Of course Ill have my camera in hand, cant wait, ewwwwww it is going to look disgusting, but after seeing the dead cat decay under the house I can handle this.
So at the moment I am waiting to see if the Council or their contractors will be out in the front fixing the front laterals. I can't understand how it can be fixed when the pipes are clearly smashed at that end also, but then again, they could be 'other' laterals (Just a cheat sheet on these pipe names would be great), and then maybe I'll be told that they are different to the front laterals. Damn I have no idea, well to a certain point and have gone through my LIM and drainage plans, which are very vague, and from what I seen I had always thought that the waste water and sewage pipes were one.
I spent one night a few months ago drawing up my own property pipe plan, well the pipes under the house to work out what went where and I suppose thinking if others can work it out Im sure I'll get more of an understanding. The info in my brain has changed to being full of crack visions (from looking down between the gaps in my patio thru to spying through the last standing foundation vents, but hey its my weird coolest hobby, there's not enough hours in the day for me to do this for as long as I really want to :)
Buggar I never did make contact with a fella who rents 20ft containers as work has been hectic. Still don't know what to do there, so going to read the Rebuild foundation and repair guide, should I say manual, as I need to see what next step is, do I get the container and start packing gear into it instead of having it stacked in the large lounge, move out so no more water/waste is leaked onto my property, or do i wait till Insurance finally give me the DRA Report conclusion 'Repair or Rebuild'?
I was going to ring Insurance today just to get them to put on my records about the pipe/contractor incidences, but was real busy, so have sent myself a blank email with subject ' Insurance' to remind myself. Yeap life is busy, so I've resorted to emailing myself to remind myself. Thank god I put something in the subject or I would never remember what I was trying to remind myself about .
Just briefly, I'm going to try to get some closer shots of 'Nipple Hill' on the Port Hills opposite me as it is disappearing, and that is my favourite hill :( It is fading more each day and getting lighter in colour as bits fall off it. Need to get pics from side angles to show you what I mean (Another mission). I know people probably don't think about these things too often, but these hills are so old and look practically the same as they did in the 1800's, just risen and one hill is lower, and poor Nipple Hill (Don't worry if you haven't heard the name as it is just my nickname for that particular hill)

| The slightly larger middle hill shows how it has risen when you compare it against the old pic from last Century (Sorry must take a pic of the old pic and add it here for you) Sept 2011 |
