The
Contractor did come back today to camera the back pipes and whatever else they
did. But I was nicely surprised with a phone call from one of the guys to update
me. But not sure on what I was told to a certain extent.
He said that the back pipes had been camera'd, and yes still some silt in them but they were fixed temporarily as all the pipes have to be relaid. The silt would still get in there, especially when the river (across the road) was at high tide, it put pressure on. Im picturing the Heathcote water pushing through my pipes with more silt, so somehow it must divert through the pipes to our houses? YAY I said to him that it would be great to have a shower without rushing before the tray overflows and also do the dishes. Also I was told to keep an eye on the toilet and keep an eye out if it wasn't flushing right. I was dubious as last night I ran some water only to find it coming out the hole in my patio that was opened up to get to more broken pipes.
When I was yapping to him I told him about the poo monster in the toilet near the kitchen, I'm sure he was thinking I was a strange one. Actually that's a pic I never got as the poo monster hovered in the bottom of the bowl for over 7 months.
He told me I can use the water, and for the next few weeks to run lots of it, as it would help clear out the silt. I asked about the big hole in the front garden and was told it would be filled in today.
When I got home form work, the first thing I did was check the front and back holes. Yes the front hole was finally filled over for now with a white end of something sitting at the top, which I assume is a temporary measure. But at least it was filled in. And yeap those nasty critter blow flies were around, on the stems of the plants, the lawn and a lot on the house.
I went round the back to check
the patio. Oh dear the hole was still there, maybe they ran out of time. I went
inside and ran the water (as he had said to),in the kitchen sink, but oh no, the
same as last night, it was pouring out between the break in the pipes in my
patio. And I think this area has more problems, as I could see bubbles around
some of the edge of the hole as the water was flooding to the middle, which to
me looked like it was pouring out elsewhere under the dirt/patio. Well I hope at
least the shower will be ok, but before when I looked it had water to the top of
the plug hole. you would think after all the blow outs the pipes have had,
things would be ok for at least a few weeks.
So Im
stumped, I was told it was fixed for now, but this is not the case, or maybe I'm
just imagining things. Back to reality, confusion, confusion, confusion.
Sometimes you feel like they think you moan too
much, so I gave up on that a while ago and waited to see what would happen. Now
I feel like Im moaning again if I ring them. Some men don't like hearing that
the job wasn't done correctly or things don't work the way they said they would.
Who knows, I don't, but I do know that they aint working. Maybe the 3.9 down the
road today shook it up again, I can only summise. Again, another day, nothing
gained, but maybe something lost as this waste water ruins the land mor
