Paying Rates!

Paying Rates.........................
We no longer use any Council Services:

We do not live in the house any longer
We do not use any water on the property
We do not use the sewerage system
The pipes are screwed, so cant really rent it out
Cannot sell the land, till the house is demolished, which won't happen till EQC and Insurance fight it out to come to an agreement for my June 2011 EQ Unsettled Claim (And might add, this will probably include Apportionment, of which it has been presumed twice by EQC that I have been notified of????????)

A couple of months, the given time frame is here and now, so maybe, ya just never know I may get a phone call to supply info on the house, for which I have signed over the rights to, as per 'Buy another House' option.

I think what frustrates me more, is the lack of personal contact, and are wondering who I am to these people, maybe '#64726458594 - I suppose its better than being #64726458595! I lived in the house, have memories, yet I must keep visiting it every few days to check mail, check the house hasn't been broken into, put out the Rubbish bins (ahha, so  that's the privilege of paying Rates).

I don't necessarily want the house to be no longer, but I do prefer to have it disappear, never see it again on that street if I go past. The slow demise if the house, is like watching it Die of a slow death...........

I found pleasure the other night being in the house, by myself, on a night when I needed to fully concentrate on some work without interruption, think and ponder the path that led us here. It presented itself to me as a distant non-existent place, but also as my own crooked Hideaway. I sat on a broken office chair and laptop on the Bench,(yeap fell off the chair a few times lol), the hollowness around me of an empty house, but for a few brief moments, it was my solitude: That is until your eyes wonder and you look around you.

Not seeing the place every day, the changes are more noticeable, a couple more than others. On top of these, I was quite surprised at the drop in the front lawn and gardens, along with the spreading of the cracks in the driveway looking more ghoulish, hiding what lays beneath. I did notice that one side of the house is showing more movement recently in the foundation and in parallel with the driveway cracks, towards the river. Seems the silt may be stronger than the liquified state.

Still to sort/receive:
Land Damage Claim
Open Claim in new house
Sell land to help pay for the extra finances that was needed
House demolished , notification and actioned
Waiting on OIA from applying in November last year

Geotech Report Incorrect info:
It stated I lived opposite 'the wrong river'
The date of the Drilling is different to the documented dates on my Blog, although only one date is in the Report, and noone has taken responsibility for drilling prior holes and leaving them open

Not looking forward to:
Seeing any salvageable items from the house on Trademe

Will not accept:
If by the time I receive the Settlement for my Land, the house is demolished, and I do not have at least one Peg on the property, I will only be offered 50%. This is not acceptable if they change rules again, just like logging a Service call for your laptop, any official notification to an entity, the date it is first documented is the date it is to be taken from.
