work is one of my only solitudes: Something I am able to be in control of. Dont get me wrong I am far from a controlling person, but many other area of life is out of my hands, and that aint gonna change for a long time to come.
Since having my house condemned last November, we are still where we were at in my last post. I think I blogged that they finally temporarily filled in the hole by my back door. Although they were coming out to fix my pipes, tis a bit silly when the house is gonna be pulled down, what a waste of dollars and resources better suited for others in need. As you can see they managed to find resources around my property in an attempt to make the hold safer.
Every second day having a shower is a bit yukky, and the lack of privacy due to door bindings is dismal, and the house looks shabbier, and the land looks like WW4 was held on it, we still perservere, but only because we have to!
May 25th just as the 5+ shake hit a geotech truck was parked up my drive. (My son msn'd me to advise). So the coloured paint marks over my property were finally being utilised. Sad to say I was not notified as the Insurer had stated in a one paragraph note stuck in my letterbox a few weeks prior.
The gardens and lawns are ruined from all the prior issues that have been occuring since the quakes started, no more do I own an award winning garden. The Geotech drilling added to this, pox holes all over the place, and tractor marks over the left over garden and lawn areas, and chips of concrete broken due to the weight of the driller. This is not a concern as it blends in with what it looked like prior.
What has got me off my arse to post is the discrete goingons behind our back by Geo/Insurers. We only want to be kept informed!
After this amount of time being onhold I decided to email the Insurer to let them know that I would be interested in buying elsewhere now, although I have chosen to rebuild on the same site. I said that it is probably cheaper and better for the Insurer if I changed to this, but was not interested if I had to pay Contract breaking fees. This was to show that the option was there although it was with reluctance I mentioned this.
The Insurer then advised me that TC3 was going onhold and it would be YEARS before ANY rebuilds. Huh? but we are already on hold, so Im assuming she meant 'Onhold double time'. Dont think Wiki has a definition for that.
Had a brief email with our Resident person and they advised that pro drills were being pulled due to requisitioning? I still gotta go Google that. At the same time I found out that approx 20 properties had been Geotech'd recently in our block.
This morning after speaking with a neighbour I knew there was more indepth backend stuff going on that we werent aware of. She mentioned that the Insurer she spoke with said that "The Block/Area may be referred to authorities as 'Going RED'". Seems they cant hit solid ground at 20-30 metres. The lady asked if I was told anything when the Geo was being done, but as I mentioned I was not advised that it was happening when it did so couldnt give over any information.
So this explains why the Insurer is pulling out of our area. So sad that we dont know this. Different information from different people. And yes I am prepared to admit I am wrong, if this is not correct, as this is only going by what officials and people in the same situation are told. Surely something we are told has to be true, surely!

It would be one non stop nightmare if we changed to RED as it would open the door to others, and no way would they allow this to happen. Im guessing it will be a payout and 'move ya ass along'.....Not many places you can wake up and have the view of the hills so close, and I would miss 'Nipple Hill' my first sight of the day every morning. xxx
