Repair pipes - Huh? 4 months later

Oops the other day I quoted that the Hole#3 pipes had been broken and open for 5 months. Just checked my blogs and in Nov sometime it was the 14th day then, so it must be approx 4 months of being unable to use the kitchen sink.Brings a new meaning to everything but the kitchen sink..............

Have been busy, life as we know it, and havent updated the blogs since 6th Feb. It still confuses how Im TheXDMarilyn AND TheXDMarilyn2nd in my other set of blogs, and yes some have crossed over, but hey nothing like being thorough, and didnt want to lose the recorded updates so I can go back over them to check times/dates etc. Since last post, I have managed to get my name into the museum records x 4 after finding some artefacts, still waiting to hear if any history, who owned the Pounamu etc has been found out, but all exciting I say

Well finally I have news that the pipes near the back door have been temporarily fixed. As per other blog, last I heard from anyone about what was happening was the words from a contractor " Your pipes are completely stuffed and silted to the rim, but please run lots of water to try to flush some of it'. And as I mentioned when I did this, stereo sound of water running into the exposed hole with the broken pipes. Ummm not sure if thats rocket science, or did I miss something?

Last week a lady has been texting me to see if they could assist in the earthquake recovery process in some way. I had been offered this after the last CERA Community meeting, but backed out till help was needed in my eyes. There is always someone else in a worse situation than oneself. But after the recent Community meeting, this person has wanted to escalate our situation without getting me to go here and there and provide this and that, and she really wants to help. It has left me feeling that Wow someone does care.

Anyway the day after she first made contact I received a call form the contractors who had left the hole as it was, saying they want to come over to fix the pipes. He said something about up the side of the house. When I said that the house had been written off/rebuild, he asked if I was sure. 'Sure as the DRA report reflects', I said. So he muttered something about the front pipes, again I was 'Huh?'. In the back of my mind it didnt make sense, and I know there are costs involved that would be reimbursed from any payout I may receive.

I told him that all I want is the back laterals near the back door fixed, as it has caused us a lot of grief, and unable to use the kitchen sink for all this time, and not to mention all the germs and fleas in the hole ewwwww!

They must have come around home and took a look anyway as I found a pair of gloves and noticed a little more dirt/soil on the already there heap (A woman notices everything). Next day received a call to say they would be around to do a temp fix in that hole. YAY! YAY! Thats all I wanted done till settlement is sorted.

Think that beam looks a bit bent-hallway showing
signs of floor moving away form the wall, which is just to
the left of this pic
I still have not claimed for the Feb quakes, or one of the bigger shakes since, as I dont want anymore money deducted from the final settlement. From what I see, the more I claim with EQC, fine, but then it gets taken off you with the Insurance settlement. That part I know as they have already done this.

Dont like those cracks under different parts
of the house
At this stage I still have my mind set on a rebuild on my property, although on the verge of going to open homes due to the issues around the house. Things got yukky when my skin started swelling, going spotty, itchy, irritations, and the very congested nasal area which is both still occuring. I hated going to bed thinking of the germs and fleas in the hole and under the house, and ocming into the house, and every night I still spray the house with a home made concoction to rid the house temporarily, if even for 5 mins. Im sure I mentioned in one of my blogs that the doctor asked if I was hearing voices etc, and the Health Alert made me realise Im not nutty, and what is happening was what we had been saying for a while now.(Wont got into that as I have already documented it) After finding this Alert, I wonder, was my sons condition truly bought on by the germs. One day I will find out, and the first person to be made aware, if found to be a contributing factor, will be the admin lady who scoffed at me. If not, then awesome!

Sand boils, no idea how long it is, but
continues further along to another part
of the house, but I aint going down there to check
Still waiting on the TC3 Foundation Codes to be released, want to do a bit of research on the costs involved etc, as the TC3 building code release, sometime this month, may then get things rolling, or maybe the opposite, but then we are used to that. The day I receive a phone call to say a Geotech report is scheduled to be done soon, I shall definitely have a drink to that. But what costs are going to be thrown at us. I have heard so many different things about the Geotech reports, who covers, costs etc, that I have given up talking about it, as it seems only firsthand info is correct. Wonder if Ill buddy up with a few neighbours if EQC decide we should, now lets hope theres a cute guy just a few houses away :)
