January 9th 2012 Life as it is, like it or lump it!

Oh dear! My first post for the year I think.......Hole #3 still hanging around, more movement in the ground, EQC and the unknown,and yukky skin condition.....

Time is just flying by, never enough hours. With the recent spate of quakes/shakes, what was starting to be sewn up, has come undone and back to Square one.

Our work building had to be reassessed, which only happened today, uncertainty on what the next few months will bring us. Seems dealing directly with Contractors/Insurance on a Commercial basis is practically the same as the home owner, except non EQC cover.....

Home is the same, hole#3 still hanging around, looking a biut worse for wear though, and disgusting tiny germies, floaty things, and things that seem invisible but you see things moving around on the wet silt/dirt.

The foundations are looking more to right, or left, depending which part of the house they are. One pic I got yesterday under the house showed the base of some piles more so now, and there is a big area going Green!, this is the area with the most wet/water.

I have still been getting in those short stints here and there with my fossils, the thing that takes my mind off every day, but as usual never enough time to have with them.

I still have not heard back from the City Council on the pipes, but seems everyone has stopped giving us info. Not that it was any use. Spending lots of money on Info Quake/Insurance/Zone/Technical code booklets to send us when we have seen it on the net a hundred times and heard it at meetings. When we receive new info, then YAY. Now Ill be pissed if someone turns up and fixes it without my knowledge.

Found some small bones in my lawn, well they were in the silt, so I used a soft brush to brush the dirt and there they were. Lucky I had no time in the weekend to probe this further. I can just see myself escavating my backyard. Another thing stopping me is the bloody bees, they dont know when to go home and sleep.

Havent been home long and got a couple of things to do so sorry this is short and boring.

I spoke with EQC today. With me wanting to rebuild on this property, we cant go any further until the 'Individual Land Damage' report is done. Since sometime last year we heard it was approx Dec 2011, then Feb 2012. BUT today the news was worse.They put me onhold for quite a while to pour through my files, then came back to me to advise THEY CANNOT give me a time frame whatsoever. I asked if it would be 'Next Year'. She just said, "Dont know'................Blimey is the nicest word here.

Unfortunately if I get the emergency repair on just the pipes, this money will also come out of any settlement. Also besides the house being written off, we are in a lose-lose situation. If we claim for more damage since the 23rd Dec, this money would also come out, so its the same as hitting your head against a brick wall. I was eager to learn my fate from the June quake claim, but why bother even thinking about it, this too will be deducted. So from this, it just shows that all thatr is being done, is paperwork for record purposes.

I was disappointed when I was told by a good friend who works in one of these official earthquake releated places that they wont let me build on this property, as I am too close to a river. I certainly wasnt thrilled with the fact that an admin person was telling me this, yet they havent told me a thing, and are nowhere to be found. Who to believe?

But in the meantime, focus is on work and getting to a point that one day staff will have a solid, stable environment.

Oh nearly forgot, I started getting a rash on my hand and the bottom of my face last week. This spread to my hand, then waking up the next day the left side of my face was swollen,and bumps over the skin. The doctor as usual couldnt tell me what it was, but guessed it was some type of allergy, or my body was just too tired and overstressed. All I was worried about, was whther it had anything to do with the condition in the house, or mostly 'What if I reacted like this around vinegar (used to prepare the fossils), or allergic to the fossils. Now that is not a thought I want to contemplate.

One more thing, the door on my sons bedroom is so warped it doesnt shut at all, and I dont necessarily like to hear him fart lol. Me and someone else yesterday spent 2-3 hours trying to plane it with a blunt plane, and a chisel. Man what a mess! It closes a little now, but it definitely is not the same shape as a standard door!

Right I have to shoot off, be good, if you cant be good at it, and keep a good record of it! :)
